Finding Your Fit

Getting the right fit is the single most important step in finding a hat you’ll actually wear. A hat that’s too tight gives you a headache. One that’s too loose blows away at the first gust of wind. The perfect fit is the one you forget you’re wearing.

Measuring at Home

  1. Grab a soft tape measure
    A fabric tape measure works best. If you don't have one, use a piece of string and measure it against a ruler.
  2. Measure around your head
    Wrap the tape measure around your head approximately 1 inch (2.5cm) above your ears and across your forehead. This is where a hat sits.
  3. Write it down in inches and centimeters
    Hat sizes are listed in both. Most hat sizes run from 6⅞ to 8+ — knowing your exact circumference means we can get your hat fitting perfectly from the start.
  4. Account for sweatbands
    Custom Bleubird hats include a leather sweatband that will break in slightly over time. We size with this in mind — a properly fitted hat should feel snug but never tight.
